Experience DesignWe provide a broad range of skills and creative experience to help you realize your dream - that’s how our Design Engineers came up with the world’s first stereoscopic 3D theater in Athens, and created the first-ever hybrid digital fulldome and partial 3D theater in Sweden.
Our team has designed and integrated many complex installations – we are well placed to offer technical advice, creative direction and innovative design concepts during the initial crucial planning stage.
The result? A unique turnkey project designed just for you.
How does the planning and design process work?
The process of space planning is an iterative one. It starts with a project brief and considers the anticipated uses of the theater and the aspirations of the project team. It goes on to do an initial site survey to understand the volume and ideas for people movement, in particular exploring ways to add drama and ‘reveal’ throughout their journey.
Then the 'limiting' factors of technology, heating, cooling, health and safety are factored in, but only slightly at this stage. During this early phase we want to introduce as many ideas as possible, quite often the limiting factors can be resolved through other creative approaches.
During this early phase, rough CAD models are developed to everything would ‘fit’ - these CAD models allow rapid prototyping of the space and produce visuals that the entire project team can discuss and debate. Concept sketch drawings are also produced for certain areas of the theater to fill-in the creative details that the CAD models might not reveal.
Typically a number of concepts will receive this treatment over a number of weeks to allow the entire design team to contribute, for the engineering group to start to assess feasibility and for the commercial team to estimate both capital and operational costs. Ultimately a favorite configuration will start to float to the top which balances the best layout, the best use of technology, the optimum budget and of course, the very best audience experience.
